Originally powered by water and steam The Mill and
the adjacent Mill House stand on the brink of tidal water with
views across reed beds to the east and meadows to the west, with
woodland and forest in the middle distance.
The enthralling and peaceful surroundings
of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Site of Special
Scientific Interest SSSI make this an ideal holiday base for bird
watchers and country lovers, or for those looking for a quiet
retreat.
Mill Lane forms part of the Suffolk Coast Path and the Suffolk
Coastal Cycle Route. There are RSPB reserves close by as well,
interesting places to visit such as Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh, Orford, Woodbridge and Framlingham.
Interesting places to eat out can also be found in the locality.
The Mill Self Catering Holiday Apartments
The four-storey Mill building stands on the side
of a narrow road, Mill Lane, with the mill pond to the back. It
has been converted to a high standard into 5 self-catering holiday
apartments, each of an individual nature. In all there are nine
bedrooms giving a total occupancy of 18.
The whole ground floor has been developed to provide interesting
communal and recreational areas with the capability of seating
and tabling for 18 in one area.
Adjoining the Mill, this Georgian house has
been refurbished and provides 2 self catering holiday cottages
each having a garden and able to sleep 6 adults, plus cots. The
cottages can be interconnected to provide accommodation for larger
families, up to 12 plus cots.
